|OUT AND ABOUT|stanwick lakes, Northants

As I'm sure you've realised if you are a regular, we love getting out and about for T to burn off some of his excess energy, one of our favourite places to visit locally is Stanwick lakes we visited recently with friends and had a fab day out!

There's a lovely big adventure playground which is perfect for T and his friends to play around and have lots of fun.

Even Daddy gets in on the fun!

We visited on a nice and dry day in May, but there were still lots of big muddy puddles and one of our friends managed to get very wet and dirty, we highly recommend welly boots and a couple of changes of clothes!

T took his new binoculars and spent a lot of time looking for birds, I'm going to take him again when it's just the 2 of us so we can make use of the feeding station and he can go at his own pace.

T's favourite place was the assault course the reason I don't have many photo's is because my little daredevil was off with his bestie Albie and I was trying to make sure that they both came away with no broken bones ;)

There's so much to do at Stanwick Lakes, I've only touched on a tiny propotion of things to do, as we go back and do more, I'll add to it!  I'm looking forward to attending at least one evening 'movies by the lake' event.

We also ate in Café solar where we were able to get decent Panini's and sandwhich lunchboxes for the boys for a reasonable price, we managed to get seats upstairs which gave the boys a nice space to move about without disturbing anyone else.

Parking during the summer and on bank holidays can be up to £5.50 per day, but is much cheaper at £2.50 during the week.

  6. It looks so lovely and your photos are great. The assault course sounds fun, well for the kids. I'd be a quivering wreck, hovering over the children all kids love to flirt with danger don't they! Cheeky devils x #whatevertheweather

  8. We love Stanwick too! It's a great place for a walk. I'm thinking we'll probably go a lot more once Finn is a bit older and able to play on the assault course-although he's such a good climber I bet he'd give it a go! I'm off now to read some more of your posts and see if there's any local places I haven't been yet. #whatevertheweather
