|FOOD|thin and crispy pizza base

I do like a nice thin and crispy pizza, I'm not talking thin and crispy frozen pizza cause they just are never quite thin enough. More like those I've eaten in Italy or in decent Italian restaurants.

Anyway, I came across a new dough recipe recently and with a few tweaks it's now our go-to recipe and the great thing is, no yeast so you don't have to wait for it to rise.

These quantities make about 3 adult sized pizzas.

1 1/4 cups of plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp coconut oil (melted)
1 tsp agave nectar
1/2 cup water

1. Mix all ingredients together until they form a dough.

2. Knead for a few minutes, then roll into circles and place on pizza stone or tray.

3. Top with tomato sauce (I use 1 qty of our basic tomato sauce) and toppings of your choice.

4. Bake for 12-15 minutes keep checking after 15 minutes as it may need a tiny bit longer and it will burn quickly!

  1. I was always a deep pan person myself but that's all changed now. A trip to Italy (a while ago now) and then the kids like it the thinner the better. We don't usually have coconut oil in the home... would anything else work instead I wonder? Thanks @rainbowsaretoo from #HowtoSunday

  2. Ooohhh this looks yummy. I am a huge fan of thin crispy pizza bases. This is something that I have been meaning to try for a while :-) #HowToSunday

  3. I completely agree that thinner dough bases are so much nicer. I love making pizzas at home popping on exactly what we want so I will definitely give your pizza dough a try, I'm integuied that it contains agave nectar as well. #HowtoSundays
