SAD

My Grandpa was taken to hospital last week after a fall, on Sunday he took a turn for the worse after getting pneumonia and he has deteriorated ever since.

On Thursday evening he was put on 'end of life care' and we are now waiting...

I've said goodbye now and think I've come to terms with the situation.  He's 91 and has had a wonderful life but that doesn't stop me feeling incredibly

... SAD ...

  1. That is so sad, even though it is a ripe old age and how things have to end one day it is still sad when it is your Grandpa. Hugs to you.

  2. That is so very sad even if he has lived a long, wonderful life it is so very hard to let go. I am sorry for pain you must be feeling as I recently had a sudden loss in my life as well! I have written two blog posts on Learning how to grieve if you are interested.
    Lots of hugs,

    1. Thanks Johanne, that is so true, I've no idea how I'm going to explain it to my 2 yo when the time comes, but I think celebrating the good times will be the way I go :)

  7. What a fantastic age to reach, but such a sad way to go. I think we all hope to just disappear with a bang and it's hard when loved ones linger. But I'm glad you've had the opportunity to say goodbye and hope that when his time comes, you can feel at peace with it. Sending hugs through this hard time. x
