|REVIEW|Harben House Hotel Newport Pagnell

Ok so another little Milton Keynes hotel review.  Last weekend was our Sister-in-laws 50th so we decided to stay over in MK so neither of us had to drive.  We searched online for a nice cheap room and found one at Harben House in Newport Pagnell, we found a double room for £40 per night breakfast was an additional £8.50 each (we didn't have breakfast this time).

Harben house is just off junction 14 of the M1, it's not in Central Milton Keynes.

First impressions, this is a very corporate hotel, it's not homely, it's not boutique and it's not luxury, it is what it is, great value for money but no frills.

The reception was very nice, there's a little gym and a big restaurant.  There are 137 rooms.

The room was small, there was a double bed but one side was up against the wall, not something that I personally am fond of (although we think we are going to have to do it in our guest room 😞).  A dressing table with TV and hanging space.  The bedding was adequate.

There was no fridge (quite normal to be honest) but the sink was nice and large so there was enough room for a bottle of wine.

The bathroom had a bath, although it was particularly tiny, I do think that it could have been cleaner, it just felt a little tired and in need of a good scrub.

The complimentary refreshment tray was adequate, the tea was not a well known brand, there were only 2 tea bags and 2 white sugars so not enough for 2 cups - personally I'd expect enough for 2 cups for 2 people, no hot chocolate (the hubs asked me to mention this!)

The complimentary toiletries were good quality, there was soap and hair and body wash.

All in all Harben House would be a great choice of hotel for the Mummy
Bloggers meet up if you could get it at £40 a night.

We paid for our stay at Harben house, I just wanted to share this hotel as a recommendation for the
Mummy Bloggers meet up.

  1. Hi!

We really want to take Gwenn to a hotel soon. No idea why because she is 16 months and wouldn't have a clue but I just think, no matter where you are or why, there's something a bit exciting about staying a hotel.

    Am I weird?!

    1. ha ha not at all, I think it's a great idea, we did the same with T when he was smaller, we are hoping to visit some friends over the winter but they all live near the sea so hotels are a bit more expensive than this! I hope that you do take Gwenn away soon and have a lovely adventure!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

  2. I chuckled at the use of the bathroom sink to chill the bottle of wine, great improvisation and I'm glad to see you got your priorities straight! #weekendbloghop xx

    1. A bit naughty really isn't it, but I like to feel as though I'm on holiday even if it's only 20 miles down the road and for one night! ;) x

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, whilst I may not be able to reply to every one, I do read and appreciate each of them. Feel free to email me too if you would like to! xxx
