|FAMILY|summer break staycation - day 1

Monday was the first weekday of our summer break (actual day 3) it was a tough day because it should have been The a Hubs Dads 70th birthday. We lost him 6 years ago and sometimes it still hasn't hit home that he's gone. T never got to meet him, although I'm sure he's always close by.

To 'celebrate' we all went to Ask Italian in MK, we used tesco clubcard vouchers to pay, we had a great time. The food was good and we all left suitably stuffed - total cost £80.00 clubcard vouchers (£20.00) and £23.00 for balance, drink and tip. Not bad considering that was for 4 adult starter, main. course and deserts and one child's 3 course meal.  T's meal was very good, he particularly enjoyed his desert of meringue, ice-cream and strawberries washed down with a babychino!

After lunch we popped to put some flowers on Grandad's grave, I said 'happy birthday Grandad' which inadvertently prompted T to sing happy birthday which was a really lovely way to celebrate the occasion, especially as it was completely natural.  We all then sang happy birthday walking back to the car.

When we got back home The Hubs and K nipped out to get her a new swimming costume, the boys and I ventured outside again and they ended up having another water fight, the water pistols and rainbow shower were out and they were soaked again, but they had loads of fun again!

We weren't very hungry after our big lunch so just had some nachos in the evening and watched Rio 2,  which was really good.

Total cost of today's activities = £23.00 food, £2.00 parking, £20.00 in clubcard vouchers
